All my radio work, so far, has been comedy.
BBC EDUCATION, CARDIFF (All broadcast on Radio Cymru, in English. Intended for school pupils aged between 8 and 11 – key stage 2.)
“Before and After”, three 20 minute plays, about the invention of the printing press, the compass and the steam engine, for the “Exploring Our Past” series, 1992.
“Ancient Egypt”, four 20 minute plays plus two dramatised Inserts for the last programme in the series. 1993.
“Roman Britain”, five 15 minute plays. 1994.
“Edwardian Families”, five 15 minute plays, 1995.
“Victorian Families”, five 10 minute plays, 1996.
“The Second World War”, five 10 minute plays, 1997.
“Drama Box”, five 7 minute plays for the English curriculum, on the subject of Welsh legends, 1995.
STAGE
“Family Values”, full length play, given a rehearsed reading at the Arena Theatre in Cardiff in May 1993, as part of the Made In Wales “Write On” festival.
“A Circle Round the Sun” , a screenplay, was given a reading by Bristol Playwrights Company at the Old Vic Theatre School in 1992.
“An Evening With Henry Cave”, a piece with songs, tunes and dance, written and performed in collaboration with local actors, musicians and dancers and performed at the King’s Head pub in Coleford as part of the Coleford Millenium Project. February 1999. This was supported by Take Art.
In June 1999 I was invited to take part in a workshop at the Theatre Royal, Bristol, by Paines Plough.
“Master Of Disguise”, a short monologue, was given a rehearsed reading at the Salberg studio (Salisbury Playhouse), as part of the Stagewrite Festival Of New Writing, June 2003. The piece was subsequently short listed for performance by Theatre West.
“Spinning The Stone”, a full length play, received a rehearsed reading as part of the Stagewrite Festival at the Slaberg in June 2004.
“The Mad Woman In The Attic” , a full length monologue, was given a rehearsed reading as part of the Stagewrite festival at the Salberg in June 2005. This was developed from a ten minute piece performed at the New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth as part of the Nuffield Theatre (Southampton)’s “Rough Cuts” in December 2004.
“The Mad Woman In The Attic”, directed by Anne Pearson and with Sally Sanders as Pat, has been awarded a grant by Arts Council England to tour to village halls in Somerset, Wiltshire and Devon in Autumn 2006.
